Telling Stories of Mexican California

Telling Stories of Mexican California: Real Life & Myth Making: This traveling exhibition from the California Historical Society (via Exhibit Envoy) examines the true history of California’s Mexican era (1822–1846) alongside the romanticized "Spanish Fantasy Past" created by early boosters. Custom companion panels curated by the History Center bring this narrative home to West Marin, highlighting regional Coast Miwok heritage, Mexican land grant ranchos, and the local families who shaped the Tomales Bay region.
