Join us for an engaging illustrated lecture and Q&A with renowned historian and author Lynn Downey as we explore the life, legacy, and true story of blue jeans icon Levi Strauss.
Event Overview
Everyone knows his name, but few know the real story of Levi Strauss.
Behind the world-famous denim brand was a visionary merchant whose life helped shape Northern California. In this captivating presentation, former Levi Strauss & Co. historian Lynn Downey brings the man behind the brand into focus.
Lynn will clear up long-standing myths surrounding Strauss, share the true history behind the invention of jeans, and reveal surprising, lesser-known connections between his company and West Marin.
The lecture will be moderated by Carin Jacobs, founder of Place Matters, and followed by an audience Q&A session.
